Projects to reactivate existing buildings have become increasingly important in China. German GMP architects transformed the stainless steel workshop of Baowu iron and steel in 1985 into the new main campus of Shanghai Academy of fine arts. This project has become the focus of attention in the process of developing the original industrial land into an art district. The architect took "time corridor" as the concept. This design not only faithfully retained the spirit of the original building, but also fully considered the balance of natural light, energy saving and functional space planning after the reconstruction of the building.

Zhou Liwen's old clothes recycling device comes from the designer who accidentally found that fabrics of different materials will fade to varying degrees according to the temperature.
